his family holiday combines visits to awe-inspiring monuments and ancient world treasures with fun and relaxation on the Nile and by the Red Sea a varied itinerary and a perfect introduction to a fascinating land. Egypt is a country steeped in history and charm: we delve into the country's glorious past as we visit Giza's Great Pyramids and the grand temples and tombs at ancient Thebes. These sights (and our great guides) never fail to captivate children and adults alike. Upstream in Aswan we travel by traditional felucca on the Nile and by camel in the desert we always like to vary our transport! Our journey ends by the Red Sea, famed for its beaches and beautiful reefs. There is time for various excursions or you can simply relax on the golden sands the choice is yours.

Flights via Amsterdam with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Excellent regional flight options. Accommodation 9 nights 4 star hotels, 1 night sleeper train. Swimming all hotels have pools. Transport private mini/midi bus, one internal flight, overnight sleeper train and camel! Group min 6, max 20, plus guide and driver. Food all breakfasts and 3 dinners included. Reality Check travelling in Egypt can be tiring due to the heat. Hygiene standards are generally very good but tummy upsets are possible.
The Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Cairo. 2 Free
morning in Cairo; afternoon tour of the famous Egyptian Museum, home of Tutankhamun's treasures. 3 A day at the Pyramids: Saqqara, Dashour and Giza; overnight sleeper train to Aswan. 4 Explore temples and islands of Aswan; a relaxing felucca ride; desert camel ride. 5 Optional tour to Abu Simbel or free to relax by the pool. 6 Morning train to Luxor; afternoon camel ride on the West Bank; evening visit to Luxor Temple. 7 Explore Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon visit Karnak Temple. 8 Transfer to Hurghada. 9 Full day free in Hurghada; relax and swim, take a boat trip, or snorkel and dive in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea (all optional). 10 Fly to Cairo. 11 Fly to London.
