his is an ideal trip for those wishing to enjoy the best of Egypt in a fun and adventurous way. Our high-calibre guides will take you on a journey back in time as you visit the ancient land of the pharaohs. We see the fabulous riches of Tutankhamun's tomb, the grand pillars of Karnak Temple and the colourful hieroglyphics that cover the tomb walls in the Valley of the Kings. We even devote a full day to exploring the breathtaking pyramids an experience in itself! Moving away from the grandeur of ancient Egypt we board a felucca, a single-masted traditional sailing boat. A night spent under the stars on the Nile is a real highlight, but not for the unadventurous!

Flights via Amsterdam with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Excellent regional flight options. Accommodation 6 nights 4-star hotels, 1 night sleeper train and 1 night felucca. Swimming all hotels have pools. Transport private mini/midi bus, 1 internal flight, overnight sleeper train, felucca and camel! Group min 6, max 20 plus guide, driver and boat crew. Food all breakfasts, 2 dinners and 1 lunch included. Reality Check children should be able to swim. The sun can be strong. Hygiene standards are generally very good but tummy upsets are possible. Day 1 Fly to Cairo. 2 Free
morning in Cairo; afternoon tour of the famous Archaeological Museum. 3 A full day at the pyramids: Saqqara, Dashour and Giza; overnight sleeper train to Aswan. 4 Arrive Aswan; optional visit to Abu Simbel or free time to explore Aswan. 5 Board felucca and sail down the Nile. Enjoy music and dancing around the campfire. 6 Morning sailing; disembark felucca at Kom Ombo; drive to Luxor. 7 Explore Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and Colossi of Memnon; afternoon camel ride on the West Bank. 8 Morning visit Luxor and Karnak Temple; fly to Cairo. 9 Fly to London.

Ancient Egyptian tombs were always placed on the western side of the Nile so that when the sun rose, the light would pass through the doorways and illuminate the room.
