Itinerary
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3/11 Day 12 Fly to Longyearbyen, night in hotel. Board ship and begin exploration. Exploring the Spitzbergen Archipelago. Disembark in Lonyearbyen, afternoon flight to London.
In 2007 our special photographic charter sold out within a few weeks, so we are delighted to be offering the same again for 2008
Paul Goldstein has enjoyed some extraordinary luck with bears - a rich harvest reaped only after many hours on watch with binoculars glued to his eyes. This departure will run along similar lines as this year with some brutally early starts and late Zodiac excursions, and whilst aimed especially at photographers this trip is probably not for those who care only about results. Taking photographs in this wilderness is a rare privilege and needs to be appreciated as such, so the trip demands a special sensitivity. Joining Paul on board will be Simon Calder, owner of possibly the oldest digital camera ever produced. Whilst extremely proud of this, Simon would never profess to be a photographer,
