Any expedition to Spitzbergen or Antarctica is always memorable but these promise to be particularly special. Spitzbergen 28 June `08 (page 24) This is a whole charter led by Paul Goldstein. It will push the boat out in terms of hours on deck and in the Zodiacs. Paul has an intimate knowledge of the Svalbard archipelago and is an award-winning photographer and he intends to put this to good use for those on board. Those who have joined him on expeditions to other parts of the world will know that this will entail early rises and long hours ashore. If you're serious about your wildlife photography you'll be kicking yourself if you miss this departure. This early season departure will have more time with the documentaries. Probably one of the finest birders on the planet. Simon Calder rookeries on South Georgia and concentrate on the huge bergs of the Weddell Sea as well as hopefully getting in at Paulet Chris Packham
