Itinerary: Day 1 Fly to Salt Lake City. 2 Morning visit to Mormon capital; transfer to Yellowstone N.P. 3/4 Fascinating daywalks amongst geysers, mountains and gorges of Yellowstone. 5 To Grand Teton N.P.; full-day walk. 6 Long drive to Moab, home of Arches and Canyonlands N.P. 7 Free day for optional hiking, rafting or jeep safari in Canyonlands N.P. 8 Full day walking in Arches N.P. 9 Into Rockies via Vail (hike en route); arrive at historic gold mining town of Leadville. 10 Walking in the Rocky Mountain N.P. 11 Day trip to Aspen to stroll the famous streets and take optional walk; drive to Winter Park. 12 Fascinating walk to James Peak along historic train trestles and alpine meadows, reaching 4052m. 13 On to Rocky Mountain N.P.; hike towards headwaters of the mighty Colorado River and ghost town site. 14 Interesting walk into Glacier Gorge with cascading waterfalls; to Denver. 15 Depart Denver. 16 Arrive London.

Hiking amongst the peaks, lakes, meadows and deserts of five famous American national parks The American Rockies cover a vast area and rank amongst the most challenging and scenically rewarding ranges of the world. Huge peaks tower above glacier-carved valleys, crystal blue lakes and meadows frequented by bison, moose and even grizzly bear. This itinerary explores several extraordinary and varied parks, including Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton and Yellowstone, as well as the amazing desert scenery of Arches and Canyonlands. In addition to several daywalks in these parks, there is also the chance to hike a couple of spectacular peaks.
