CHOOSING YOUR TREK
With over 150 different walks and treks in this brochure, how do I choose?
Obviously for many the destination is key; if it's Everest you want to see or Kilimanjaro you want to climb, you will find various options in this brochure. However, wherever you want to go it is important to ask yourself three key questions. With whom do you want to travel, what level of comfort and support you would like, and how tough do you want the walking to be? Over the next four pages we give you guidance on all these, but please remember you can always call one of our expert travel advisors or read the specific Trip Notes for further details. The vast majority of our trips are adult group holidays. Groups are small in size, with an average of 11-12 participants made up of singles, couples and friends. Just over half our clients are female and although the average age is 38, we usually have many younger and older clients in any group. These group holidays provide a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your travel experiences.
ADULT GROUP
This style of trip is ideal for single travellers as around half our clients travel this way. We will room you with a fellow TRAVELLER traveller of the same sex so you don't have to pay a supplement, and occasionally you may end up with your own room. However, guaranteed single accommodation is available on most trips at a very reasonable extra charge.

Where do we stay?
We want you to visit each country in this brochure as a traveller, not a tourist, getting under the skin of our many magical and beautiful destinations. To do this, many of our trips use varying types of accommodation, each specifically chosen to give access to beautiful scenery.
If you have ever dreamt of watching sunrise from INDEPENDENT the Sun Gate above Machu Picchu in Peru, bagging Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, or trekking in Nepal in the company of a few close friends or family, these are the trips for you. We offer many of our most popular holidays to small private groups or couples. The itineraries are usually the same as one of our group holidays, but we operate them for a minimum of two people. As these trips are subject to availability, it is strongly recommended that you plan your trip as early as possible.

Hotels
Almost all of our trips use hotels for the first and last night, while others are based in hotels throughout. Our intention is to use small, locally run hotels with character; rooming is based on twin share and where possible en-

Pensions & guesthouses
Pensions and guesthouses provide similar standards of accommodation to hotels, the difference is similar to that between a Bed & Breakfast and a hotel in the UK.
Our experienced group sales team have in-depth knowledge of many destinations and would be happy to meet with you to discuss any aspect of your proposed trip. Group organisers have found this very useful as we can answer all your questions in one evening and will happily do a presentation on your chosen destination. Camping
All camping based trips use spacious 2-person tents. Each camp night will either be based at a recognised site - generally with basic facilities - or out in the wild. When camping, our policy is one of minimum or zero impact. All camp equipment is provided except for roll mats and sleeping bags.
