Your Questions Answered CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOLIDAY FOR YOU Once you have picked your activity and your preferred grade, you should also consider a few other important issues. Do I want to stay in a lively but traditional village or on a remote mountainside? It's worth thinking about what you like to do in the evenings. Most of our holidays in Scandinavia are in wilderness locations, where evening entertainment is home-grown. The best locations for access to some low key nightlife are: Seefeld in Austria, Villabassa in the Dolomites, Slovenia and the Iceland Weekends. I always insist on good quality accommodation where can I expect this? If this is you, then avoid the following holidays, as we use basic wilderness style cabins or hostel-style accommodation with limited facilities: Lapland Adventure and the Icehotel, Arctic Circle Dogsled Expedition, the Fjellhiem at Sjusjoen, and the bunk rooms at Kvitavatn. Our best accommodation is at: Hotel Adler in the Dolomites, Hotel Kalevala in Finland, Hotel Kristall in Pertisau and the cosy Kamben in Norway. What else is there to do, other than my chosen activity? Even on the single activity weeks we offer a number of other options for the evenings or free day, for example: hot-tubs, dogsledding trips, downhill options and torchlight sledging. Refer to the Optional activities' section on the trip page for a list of what's possible in the area. Otherwise try one of our multi activity holidays where the variety comes included. How about downhill skiing? The following trips have access to good downhill skiing opportunities: Page Finnish Wilderness Week 19 Chamonix Snowshoe 37 Dobbiaco 44 Mont Blanc Winter Activity Week 24 Versciaco Skating Course 46 Slovenia Winter Multi Activity 23 Mosern & Seefeld Slovenia Snowshoe Triglav National Park Snowshoeing in the Dolomites Sjusjoen Page 50 38 54 36 56 EASY TO UNDERSTAND GRADING SYSTEM It is important to choose a holiday appropriate to your fitness and experience levels.
