FRANCE, SPAIN MIXED ACTIVITY WEEKS
PYRENEES WINTER ADVENTURE
SPAIN, FRANCE · 8 DAYS · GRADE: C
Cross-country skiing, dogsledding, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tobogganing and downhill skiing - all in one action-packed week
The Pyrenean winter provides the perfect conditions to try some very different activities. During the week we learn to snowboard, try our hand at the art of ski de fond (cross-country skiing), dogsled with Alaskan Malamuts and get the chance to hone our tobogganing skills. All this in a starkly beautiful winter wilderness, tempered by delightful villages with tapas bars on one side of the border and traditional French café life on the other. Luchon has access to a number of small ski areas and large stretches of wild mountain scenery, while larger ski areas with extra facilities are accessible in Spain. We spend our time in both regions to make the most of the variety of activities available. New for 2008 is the optional activity of `air-boarding' - lie face down and head first on a high-tech inflatble sled, and shoot down a special section of piste - its the latest winter adrenalin sport!
