ur range of cross-country skiing holidays is built on the success of Waymark's award-winning cross-country programme - winners of the
Cross-country skis are generally longer and lighter than alpine skis, with bindings that let you lift your heel. Most skiing is undertaken on prepared tracks (loipe) and takes place in the relatively flat valley bottoms, or on high altitude plateaux. Many newcomers imagine that you need to be super-fit to take up crosscountry. While fitness helps, a sense of balance and a reasonable amount of coordination are what really counts in making the learning process a pleasure and not a bind. Most people find that by day 2 or 3 they are gliding and stopping with ease.

BEGINNERS' COURSES
We have a wide range of options for those who wish to learn from scratch, with excellent instruction included. Just look out for the Grade 1 weeks at the following centres: Rondablikk Dobbiaco

We do accept beginners on grade 2 weeks (not 2+), but you should be confident of your ability to progress.
