OUR WINTER ACTIVITIES HOLIDAYS
As our holidays offer an alternative to the usual winter activities, you'll want to know what to expect. The following outlines a few key factors, including how fit you need to be, where you'll stay and typical group sizes.
GRADES, FITNESS AND EXPERIENCE LEVELS
It is important to choose a holiday appropriate to your fitness and experience levels. All our holidays use one or other of the grading systems below.
ACCOMMODATION
Where you stay is a crucial part of a snow holiday, and we have gone to great lengths to find accommodation that provides the right balance between comfort, character, convenience and value. In general we choose 3 or 4 star family-run hotels where rooms have private facilities. Certain holidays have more basic accommodation, for example we use some wilderness cabins in Scandinavia, or occasional mountain huts in the Pyrenees. Comparing hotels in different countries can be a little difficult, as star ratings are rarely used in Scandinavia, and while common in the Alps, may vary from country to country. We have included our own star rating estimates where there is no official star rating. Exodus group holidays run on a `twin-share' basis. This means that if you are travelling on your own you can choose not to pay a single supplement by sharing a twin room with a member of the same sex. If you wish to pay a single supplement, we recommend you book early, as single rooms are limited on some trips.
SNOWSHOE AND ACTIVITY GRADES
A Easy activities requiring a little physical effort for a relatively
short amount of time.
B Relatively full days, with 3-4 hours of physical activity per day. C Full days in the outdoors, with walks or activities lasting up to
4-6 hours a day.

remote terrain.
