SmALL HoTELS & PENSIoNS accommodation for this trip has been chosen to be comfortable yet cost-effective, and to reflect the villages and towns in which the group stays. as a result small hotels and family-run pensions are used, all with double, twin or triple rooms with en suite facilities. There is the possibility of a 4 person room in rytro, whilst the night in the mountain refuge at Turbacz will be dormitory-style, with shared facilities. P oland is perhaps still best known for its cultural heritage, but outside of the more famous destinations lies a world of peaceful mountains, rolling white landscapes, high mountain passes and fabulous panoramas. The Beskidy and Pieniny mountain ranges on the border with slovakia are the focus of our week. here we find a great variety of pastures, forests and highland communities that retain strong links with the past and snowshoes offer the perfect way to explore the national parks and ascend the peaks on our route. To really make the most of this we stay in a number of different locations, including a night in a mountain refuge. we also take time to visit the bustling mountain resort of Zakopane and spend a day in krakow, a vibrant, historic city contrasting the best of traditional and new Poland.
