Old Kathmandu is a captivating mix of spice sellers and potters, rickshaws and sacred cows. Our sightseeing takes in both the well-known, such as the majestic temples of Durbar Square, and the fascinating and unusual; we travel by cycle rickshaw and discover the child-eating demon of Yitum Bahal! Delightful Nagarkot perches on a high ridge (2175m) at the rim of the Kathmandu Valley and is the perfect vantage point from which to watch the sunset over the snow-capped peaks of the Himalaya. Its also a great place to discover something of rural life; we take a walk through nearby villages and plan to pay a visit to the local school. experience. Back in charming Pokhara, on the shores of Lake Phewa and a popular chill-out place for trekkers; weve time to take a boat out on the lake, hire a bike or even eat a pizza Nepali style! in store including a dugout canoe trip, jungle walks, elephant back safari and, provided its not too cold, joining the elephants for their daily bath! In the evening the local Tharu villagers visit our lodge to perform traditional dances were most welcome to join in. Finally its back to Kathmandu where the excellent shops of Thamel await and you can choose to take a flight (optional) for some close-up views of awesome Mount Everest.
