Why Volunteer?
Rightly or wrongly, volunteerings had some poor press recently and theres no doubt that ill-conceived projects do little more than soak up precious resources. Through decades as a leader in Responsible Travel, however, Explore has long known the pitfalls and benefits of charitable projects. And weve also learned that putting the right resources technical and human into the right hands achieves outstanding results. Each of our volunteer tours follows a simple formula; spending from 3 to 13 days working on a community or conservation project, then enjoying some classic Explore touring to complete the holiday. All projects have been carefully selected to deliver meaningful results in a short period, so you can be confident that your work is worthwhile and will still fit into a two to three week holiday. In addition to their practical merit, such projects also carry considerable educational value, on both sides of the equation and deliver valuable support to the host organisation.
