Partner All our volunteer tours have been individually developed with the support of handpicked organisations working at local grassroots level. They have been carefully vetted and range from NGOs and charities to independent village associations and reputable local tour agents committed to Responsible Travel. SARVODAYA, SRI LANKA www.sarvodaya.org Sarvodaya is Sri Lankas biggest charity, dedicated to making a positive difference to the lives of rural Sri Lankans through selfhelp and collective support. HOPE WORLDWIDE, INDIA www.hopefoundation.org.in Explore joined forces with Hope following the tsunami; purchasing 5 fishing boats in the immediate aftermath and has continued to support the local school to this day. The organisation runs 14 Centre of Hope projects throughout the country which provide healthcare, education and support for the elderly. AFRICAN INSIGHT www.africaninsight.co.za This pioneering South African operator champions the ideals of responsible tourism. Its guiding principle is that tourism should always benefit local communities and the environment. HANUMAN FOUNDATION, CAMBODIA www.hanumantourism.com/foundation The Hanuman Foundation was established by our ground handler in Cambodia to support a wide variety of charitable initiatives throughout the country. IMLIL VILLAGE ASSOCIATION The Imlil Village Association co-ordinates development projects in the Atlas Mountains. Major achievements include building a hammamthe regions first community steam bath, a school for 80 children in an outlying valley and providing the regions first ambulance. RESPONSIBLE ECOLOGICAL SOCIAL TOURS PROJECT www.rest.or.th The award-winning REST has assisted local Thai communities to develop and manage their own unique Community Based Tourism (CBT) programs such as home-stays, boat trips, treks and traditional handicraft demonstrations, enabling communities to develop new skills, gain an income and protect their natural environment. GLOBAL VISION INTERNATIONAL www.gvi.co.uk GVI provides volunteers and funding for projects in over 30 countries. GVI is committed to ensuring that volunteer programmes address local needs and wishes and that the contribution, over whatever timescale, is significant for both project and participant. 4
