Cordobas Mosque (the Mezquita) dates back to around 786AD  spacious and grand, its great doors and interior are strikingly decorated. Theres time to explore the old quarter, perhaps sampling tapas or the local sherry. We visit Sevilles cathedral, the largest Gothic building in the world and Alcazar, the palace fortress of the Arab Kings. Finally, we spend time in the beautiful Pueblo Blanco of Grazalema, resting in a glorious national park where walking is possible. Poppies en route to Cazorla SIER RA DE M R O A ED RR IT E ANEA 0 N SEA km 100 Several days are set aside to enjoy the scenic and lush highlands of Cazorla, Ronda and Grazalema, exploring the wild mountain landscapes which surround us. Of course, no visit to Andalucia would be complete without seeing the beguiling Moorish architecture and gardens of Granada, Cordoba and Seville. Granada & the Sierra Nevada We head to Granada to see the marvellous decorative art of the Alhambra and the Generalife, the summer residence of the Caliph. From December to May, Granadas spectacular Sierra Nevada mountain range is capped with snow, providing a stunning backdrop. Sorties from Cazorla We reach the cliff-hung Andalucian town of Cazorla by road, our base for the next three days. Situated on the edge of the dramatic Sierra de Cazorla nature reserve, this protected region is sliced by vertical mountains (over 1980m) and draped with coniferous forests and alpine plants. Wildlife includes mouflon and wild boar. Our time here will be spent exploring the area on foot  visiting monasteries and castles and enjoying the spectacular scenery all around us. Seville, Cordoba & Grazalema Several days are spent relaxing and enjoying the sights of the Moorish cities of Seville and El Tajo Gorge, Ronda FACTFILE Itinerary Day 1 Fly London/Malaga. 2 Bus to Granada; orientation walk. 3 In Granada; visit Alhambra and Generalife Gardens. 4 Drive to Cazorla; orientation walk. 5 & 6 In Cazorla; exploring on foot. 7 Drive to Cordoba via Ubeda. 8 In Cordoba; visit Mezquita. 9 Train to Seville. 10 In Seville; visit Alcazar. 11 Bus to Ronda; orientation walk. 12 Drive to Grazalema. 13 & 14 In Grazalema NP; optional walks. 15 Drive Malaga; fly London.
