Koh Racha Yai is a beautiful spot to enjoy the clear waters and white sandy beaches so typical of this area. Whilst here we visit take a boat trip around the island with a focus on snorkelling and swimming the warm seas. Krabi & Koh Lanta A drive and another ferry take us to Nopparat Beach near to Krabi. Here you can simply relax on the white sandy beach, or for the more adventurous you may choose to go seakayaking through the mangrove forests around Koh Hong and Ao Thalan full instructions and life jackets provided. On Koh Lanta, superb long beaches give way to a steep ridge and forested interior. The island has one of the largest populations in the area, and most of its 20 000 inhabitants are Moslem, who arrived from Malaysia 200 years ago and give the island its distinct feel. Relaxing on Koh Hai Continuing, we board a ferry over to the idyllic island of Koh Hai. A favourite for many, much of this little island is a forested National Park. We travel by boat to nearby Koh Muk to journey into the stunning Emerald cave. It's also possible to make a day trip to nearby Phi Phi island, where magnificent limestone cliffs rise sheer out of the water. During the summer months, the islands in the Gulf of Thailand receive a more favourable climate than those of the Andaman Sea. Rich in flora, these lush forested islands have stunning beaches and clear blue warm waters. Khao Sok National Park After sightseeing in Bangkok, we will catch the overnight sleeper train to Surat Thani, before continuing to Khao Sok National Park, one of the oldest and most bio-diverse jungles in Southeast Asia. We wake to the sounds of the jungle and spend time enjoying the park with walks and elephant riding available. Koh Phangan Returning to Surat Thani we catch a ferry to the idyllic island of Koh Phangan. The island's lack of infrastructure means that many of its abundant isolated coves and beaches are inaccessible by road, and a laid-back atmosphere pervades. We plan a boat tour around the island visiting its main waterfalls and coves. Koh Tao & Koh Samui A short ferry ride brings us to Koh Tao, world famous for its magnificent diving and snorkelling. We take a trip by boat to some of the main snorkelling sights, or you may wish to simply enjoy the scenery of this small, Golden Beaches & Jungle Ref TTE Overnight train from BANGKOK To BANGKOK Boat trips & snorkeling KOH TAO Gulf of Thailand Ang Thong NP optional trip KOH PHANGAN Isolated caves NOPPARAT BEACH Phuket Phi Phi Island Optional visit Train to BANGKOK Bustling island KOH SAMUI KOH RACHA YAI Boat trip Snorkeling KOH LANTA Optional walks & elephant ride Chieo Lan Dam KHAO SOK NP Trang Surat Thani KOH HAI Pakmeng Pier THAILAND km 0 South China Sea And am a n Se a Ko Muk Hat Chad Mai NP Visit Tham Morakot Emerald Cave' km 0 50 Optional jungle trails & elephant riding 80 South from Bangkok are the tropical paradise that are Thailand's islands.
