Is it right for your family?
Long journeys are by plane, so travelling is easy - although the effect of altitude can make some people feel unwell for a while. Most children know a little about ancient Peru from school and this itinerary will really bring it to life. They'll learn about Inca civilisation, the Conquistadores and modern Peru; anyone taking the Amazon extension will also discover the rainforest.

You can...
Visit colonial Arequipa Sail to the floating Islands of the Uros Discover Cusco - Inca capital & colonial city Wonder at the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu Explore an Amazonian rainforest Delve deep into history as the drama of Spain's conquest of the Inca empire is played out in front of your eyes as this tour progresses. The desolation of the high plateau in the Andes contrasts starkly with the extraordinary riches of three of Peru's great colonial cities, while the splendour of Inca engineering bears testament to the skill and ingenuity that once held a great swathe of South America under control.
