Dive Extensions Worldwide
Many of our clients mix adventure with diving. So, working closely with our sistercompany Dive Worldwide (experts in the field of diving holidays), we are able to offer family dive programmes to combine with our holidays. For instance, you can enjoy a safari in Kenya and then dive off the coast of Mombasa. You could explore the temples and highlands of Sri Lanka and then dive the clear waters of the Maldives. Or discover wildlife, tribal longhouses and rainforests in Borneo (opposite) and then dive with turtles from the beautiful island of Lankayan.
Lankayan, a jewel of an island in the Sula Sea, lies just an hour and a half boat ride from Sandakan. Small, unpopulated, covered by thick tropical vegetation and surrounded by a white sandy beach, it offers simple but well appointed seafront accommodation. At night you can watch dancing fireflies and swooping fruit-bats. And theres the added excitement from June to September of sighting turtle hatchlings scurrying to the sea. Then, during the day you can enjoy the most amazing diving and snorkelling&

You can sometimes choose a destination and resort that caters for both children and diving. For babies and the very young children it is often possible to find a babysitter in the resort, giving the opportunity for both parents to dive together. Many resorts offer a full range of PADI programmes for children. Five and up - SASY units allow kids to experience the underwater world the easy way - by snorkelling with scuba equipment instead of a snorkel. Eight and up - The Bubblemaker program is an introduction to the thrill of breathing underwater, whilst the PADI Seal Team is for young divers who are looking for an action-packed, adventurous program filled with exciting scuba AquaMissions . 10 and up Children are able to begin Junior Scuba Diver or Junior Open Water courses, thus allowing whole families to dive together.
