Is it right for your family?
This trip is designed for active kids from the age of five and up. The walk in the mountains is pony supported, with short walking days (2-3 hours initially, building to around 4/5 hours). The maximum altitude reached is 3,850 metres. Expect hot days and cold nights - rainfall is unlikely. Camping equipment provided but please bring a 4-season sleeping bag.

You'll visit characteristic Buddhist Monasteries and the kids will have a chance to dress up in stove-pipe hats and felt turned-up boots! Then during five days of walking youll meet friendly local people going about their simple lives in mountain villages. Theres also a chance to go white-water rafting on the Indus River.

Itinerary 1/2 Overnight flight to Delhi; tour and explore bazaar 3 Fly to Leh, capital of Ladakh. Free to explore markets 4/5 In Leh, visit a gompa (Buddhist monastery) and Leh Palace 6 Optional white-water rafting on the Indus River. Set up camp 7-11 Supported walk via Yangtang, Rizong Monastery, Phobe La pass, Themisgan. Final day visit Lamayaru Monastery 12 Return to Leh 13 Fly to Delhi, free to relax 14 Fly to London
