We have chosen this delightful part of Tuscany as our base. Lucca itself is a city which never feels touristy, enclosed by its own walls which have now been turned into an elegant 12 m high garden, perfect for a passeggiata. Almost completely closed off to traffic, the city centre has a cosmopolitan air. The cobbled streets are ideal to stroll around and window shop.
