Travel is by Eurostar to Calais and then by local train. Located in the heart of Loire Chateaux country and a great base from which to visit all the major chateaux which are easily booked at the Tourist Office. Tours is a welcoming town with a vibrant small town atmosphere A charming old town of cobbled streets and medieval houses, with a rich cultural heritage and noted for its wine and gastronomy. The huge 13th century fortress dominates the Loire and houses the worlds largest tapestry. Frances sixth largest city and just a couple of hours from Paris. The city boasts an imposing gothic Cathedral and excellent Museum of Fine Arts whilst the Jardin des Plantes is well worth visiting. River cruises are also recommended. HOTEL BRISTOL  A truly charming, comfortable three star, recently fully renovated yet faithfully preserving the original traditional features which made it a fashionable haunt in Le Touquets twenties heyday.
