Ontario
Land of shining water and home to thousands of lakes as well as such famous icons as Niagara Falls and the CN tower Ontario is a wonderful mix of buzzing cities and vast tracts of accessible wilderness. Accommodation is just as varied with sophisticated metropolitan hotels and relaxed lakeside cabins and lodges. Track the footsteps of the early pioneers as you follow the great St. Lawrence River though Kingston where you can cruise around the 1000 Islands and visit the 1812 fort and onto the Niagara Escarpment covered in vineyards producing delicious wines.
Québec
Rolling mountains, great rivers, glorious scenery all permeated with a French influence giving it a special je ne sais quoi. Visit its cities Québec celebrating its 400th birthday in 2008 and Montréal with its great museums, parks and underground city visit its countryside for summer touring, excellent country inns and restaurants, hiking and other outdoor activities: small towns such as Baie St Paul with its many art galleries, Tadoussac where you are almost guaranteed to see the white beluga whales if not the great blue whales and the awe inspiring Saguenay Fjord.
