Québec City
If Montréal is one of the most interesting, Québec is certainly one of the most historic cities in North America. 400 years old in 2008, it is the only walled city on the continent and the history lessons come flooding back as you walk the Plains of Abraham! Nowadays however the French influence is most noticeable in the cornucopia of excellent restaurants and auberges that pepper the city. Winter in the city brings the Carnival, February 1 17, 2008 and the city comes alive with parades and multiple activities.
Fairmont Château Frontenac
Location: Centre Description: Standing high on a bluff overlooking the St. Lawrence, the château is not merely a hotel located in the heart of Old Québec it is the heart of Old Québec. It has several restaurants including the Café de la Terrace which is brilliant for watching the many shows on the boardwalk a health club and spa. Accommodation: A wide selection of twin/double and king size beds plus the Fairmont Gold floor. Why we like it: The centre of everything.
Auberge Saint Pierre
Location: Centre of the old city. Description: Le Saint Pierre has successfully combined the excellence of fine hotel service with the charm of an intimate inn. Interestingly decorated with good use of the brick walls and wooden floors, it has a cosy library and a bistro bar where a delicious breakfast is served daily. Accommodation: 41 rooms and 10 suites Why we like it: Good service, comfortable rooms and great atmosphere.
Manoir Victoria
Location: In the heart of old Quebec. Description: A comfortable 4* hotel with restaurant, bar, indoor pool, fitness centre, sauna and spa. Accommodation: standard and deluxe room with 1 or 2 double beds. The deluxe rooms are larger with a sitting area. Why we like it: Old fashioned comfort.
