Inn at Manitou Relais & Chateaux
Location: McKeller On the lake shore, 2.5 hours north of Toronto. Description: A luxury resort, surrounded by forests and rocky shoreline, with just 35 rooms and 60 well-trained staff including 12 French chefs. You can enjoy the award-winning restaurant, full service spa, outdoor heated pool, whirlpool and sauna and exercise gym. There are 11 tennis courts (4 soft clay, 6 outdoor hard and 1 indoor hard), tennis clinics and a golf academy. Free Activities: Tennis, canoes, kayak and paddle boats Paid for Activities: golf, sailing, windsurfing (lessons available), waterskiing, boat fishing, tennis clinics. Why we like it: That well looked after feeling.
Sir Sam's Inn & Water Spa
Location: Haliburton Highlands, near the Wolf Centre south of Algonquin. Description: An historical hotel in a beautiful lakeside setting with an excellent restaurant and wine cellar, a swimming pool, exercise room and sauna. The WaterSpa is wonderful for relaxation, invigoration and for its healing properties. Accommodation: Very pretty bedrooms in the main building most with whirlpool bath and fireplace plus 16 chalet-style buildings along the lakeshore. Free Activities: kayaks, canoes, pedalboats, tennis Paid for activities: sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, boat cruises, mountain bikes, snowmobiles, skiing and dog sleds. Why we like it: Lovely spot with plenty of activities all year around.
Langdon Hall
Location: Cambridge, 1 hour west of Toronto. Description: Beautiful house and gardens belonging to the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group. It has a full service spa, a 5-diamond award winning restaurant and elegant reception rooms. Accommodation: 52 luxurious rooms and suites. Why we like it: Glorious surroundings
Inn at Christies
Location: Port Severn, Muskoka. Description: A pretty inn on the waters edge. It has a spa, good dining room, outdoor hot tub, and salt/mineral indoor pool. Accommodation: Comfortable rooms with balconies or fireplaces. Why we like it: Nice position and great views over the water.
