Frontier Canada Cruises
St Lawrence River
The M/V Canadian Empress
The M/V Canadian Empress is a 66 passenger replica steamboat. She was built in 1981 and designed to reflect the classic style of North American turn-of-the-century riverboats.
Her size allows her to navigate freely among the islands and through locks, thus providing close-up views (and some of the best way to see the fall colours) as she sails up the St Lawrence. Priced between £499 and £1365 depending on length of voyage, time of year and the cabin chosen. Voyages: Canadas Capital Cruise Kingston Ottawa or vice versa 5 nights 1000 Island Encounter. Kingston Kingston 3 nights Canadian Connection Kingston Québec City and vice versa 6 nights.
Crystal Cruises
The discerning readers of Condé Nast Traveller have voted Crystal Cruises Best Large-Ship Cruise Line for 14 years and we certainly would not argue with that. The good news for us is that they have recognised the importance of Canada and are offering an increased choice in 2008.
There will be four 11-night cruises between New York and Montréal. Starting in New York on 16th September, Crystal Symphony will call in at Newport RI, Boston, Bar Harbor, Maine as well as Saint John, New Brunswick, Halifax, Québec City and Montréal. The luxurious 50,000-ton, 940-guest Six-Star Crystal Symphony is one of the most spacious cruise ships at sea. Onboard amenities include grand lounges, full-service fitness facility, Crystal casino, Feng Shui-inspired spa, 360° teak Promenade Deck, two pools, Jacuzzi, awardwinning cuisine and entertainment, in addition to, elegantly appointed staterooms most with private verandahs. Prices: start at £1908 per person sharing an oceanview cabin.
