Banff: The Fox Hotel and Suites
Location: On Banff Avenue, a few steps from the centre. Description: A brand new first class all-suite hotel with a lovely welcoming lobby created from the local stone and wood, an amazing hot pool inspired by the original Banff Cave and Basin Site plus Chillis restaurant and bar. Accommodation: Beautiful warmly decorated hotel rooms, 1- and 2-bedroom suites with either 1 king or 2 double beds and a kitchenette. Why we like it: The only quality downtown self-catering accommodation.
Holidays on Horseback
Location: Banff National Park Description: A riding holiday to beat them all, with 36 day rides through astonishingly beautiful country, overnighting in remote backcountry lodges or tented camps with hot water. Ride through majestic Douglas Firs, across meadows and past lakes, seeing elk, eagles, and bighorn. There are some specialist women only and wildlife watching tours. Day rides available too. Banff: Hidden Ridge
Location: Just above the town of Banff, on Tunnel Mountain. Description: Rustic and spacious chalets with an enormous hot tub, two barbeque areas and a fire pit. The views over the town and the mountains which surround it are terrific and there are 2 or 3 restaurants nearby. Accommodation: 1 and 2 bedroom (some with loft) condos full kitchens. Why we like it: Great space for families and a reasonable price.
Kicking Horse: 2 night Adventure Package
Location: In the heart of the spectacular Rockies, 90 minutes from Banff. Description: One of the most exciting ski resorts to emerge in recent years, Kicking Horse is fast becoming a superb summer resort. Spend 2 nights in one of the on-mountain lodges or condos and choose from: a round of golf, jetboat safari, horseback trail ride, mountain biking, float tour or whitewater rafting and you have an adventure to suit everyone. Why we like it: Kicking Horse is a brilliant resort simple as that! Prices: £89 per person based on 2 sharing a room includes 2 nights accommodation at Palliser Lodge and a grizzly bear tour with a skylunch at Eagles Eye.

Why we like it: Canadiana at its best in the heart of Banff.
