Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel and Villas
Location: On the shores of 82-mile long Okanagan Lake on the outskirts of Kelowna. Description: A modern, family resort with lots of activities and a brilliant atmosphere; 4 swimming pools, library, film theatre, hot tubs, restaurant, tennis court, steam, sauna and enormous fitness centre, private marina and putting green. Accommodation: 78 large bright bedrooms and huge 2-3 bedroom lakefront cottages which get booked out very quickly. Free activities: Tennis, swimming. Paid for activities: Golf, canoes, paddle boats. Why we like it: Everything the family could want on holiday.
Hotel Eldorado
Location: On the outskirts of Kelowna near the marina and on the lakeshore. Description: An adult-oriented historical hotel with a new wing. Furnished with a combination of antiques and Okanagan memorabilia, it has a cosy bar and a lakeside dining room plus the popular boardwalk café. It also has an indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness room and a spa. Accommodation: The Heritage guest rooms are on the small side but full of character; the 30 newer Eldorado Arms rooms are lovely. Why we like it: Love the heritage building and the atmosphere.
The Cove Lakeside Hotel
Location: Across the lake from Kelowna on the beach. Description: The new all-suite hotel opens out onto a landscaped courtyard complete with spa, private beach area and marina, 2 swimming pools, waterslide, and a hot tub for both children and adults. There is also a tennis court, putting green, large screen theatre and Teen Activity Centre. The Bonfire Restaurant & Bar has an outdoor terrace and a menu that celebrates the best of local Okanagan producers and wineries. Accommodation: 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom suites all with gourmet kitchen equipped with wine fridge, balconies, 42 plasma screens, balconies and fireplaces. Why we like it: A lovely resort in a pretty area.
Delta Sun Peaks
Location: In the heart of Sun Peaks village 30 minutes north of Kamloops. Description: A comfortable hotel with good facilities including restaurant, bar and swimming pool. Accommodation: Hotel rooms with one or two double beds, 2 bedroom Residence apartments and the Signature Hotel rooms with upgraded facilities, breakfast and appetisers included in the price. Why we like it: Comfortable stopping place in pretty alpine village.
The Outback Ridge Homes
Location: Shores of Okanagan Lake, near Vernon. Description: A new lodge with beautiful architecture with interesting structural accents of heavy timbers and rockwork and number of activities including tennis and swimming. Accommodation: 2- and 3-bedroom beautifully furnished homes. Why we like it: Gorgeous houses in a lovely area.
