Echo Valley Ranch & Spa
Remote ranch country near Clinton BC
A beautiful ranch, built by its current owners, and a perfect romantic hideaway. (Children are allowed during Kid's weeks: last week July/1st week August.) Meals, prepared by a Master Chef, are served family style, focusing on good nutrition and tasty organic healthy food. Accommodation: Is in Dove lodge (housing dining room, sitting area, games room, sauna and outdoor hot tub); the Look-Out Lodge; or in one of 4 beautiful cabins, including the Honeymoon Cabin with 4-poster bed, private deck and hot tub. The Baan Thai spa, unique in North America, has some wonderful Thai and Western treatments. Please ask us for special spa packages. Riding Ability: All abilities, mostly on Tennessee Walking Horses, famous for their smooth gait. Lessons given in the arena. Age limit: Adults only except during Kids weeks. Free Activities: All the facilities (indoor swimming pool, fitness room, large games room with pool table, shuffleboard, darts and board games.), morning Thai Stretching classes, falcon training, a riding lesson, one ½ day ride per day and evening entertainment. Little Beaver Creek Ranch, Relais & Chateaux

Description: Surrounded by other cattle ranches, untouched forests, gently rolling hills and boundless prairies, an exclusive and historic guest ranch, lovingly restored by its current owner who combines his love of horses (he is a horse whisperer) with his passion for good food and comfortable surroundings. The silence of the wilderness is broken only by the cry of the loon, the beating of an eagles wing or the splash of jumping rainbow trout. Bear, beaver, elk and moose all live nearby. Accommodation: 3 lodges with a combination of master suites (with their own fireplace, jacuzzi and steam room), regular suites and additional rooms which can only be taken in conjunction with a master suite. Siwash Lake Ranch
Near 70 Mile House
160 acre working ranch, surrounded by more than 80,000 acres of uninhabited Crown land, where wildlife thrives among natural grasslands, forest, lakes and rivers. Description: an owner run private and exclusive ranch. Although riding is the main activity, the many nonriding activities include excellent fishing. Ride as much or as little as you like, wherever on the map you choose to roam. The 6,000 square foot, log ranch house is set at the edge of a meadow on a knoll overlooking Siwash Lake. French doors open to a spacious deck, perfect for drinks and appetizers. The 6 guest rooms are all beautifully decorated in country house style. NB: A 4x4 is recommended. Siwash specializes in adult oriented holidays and honeymoons, but during the summer holidays has a wonderful range of supervised children's activities.

Hills Health Ranch

Riding Ability: All levels. Competent riders can ride alone if they wish. Age limit: 7 years. Free Activities: Riding, fishing canoeing, river and lake swimming, nature walking, bird watching, and wildlife viewing. Children programme includes: animal tracking, orienteering, scavenger hunts, nature walks, fort building, arts and crafts, story times, or outdoor games. Paid for activities: Guided fishing. Price: from £262 per person per night based on 2 sharing a room depending on room chosen. Full board basis. Why we like it: A beautiful house in lovely surroundings with excellent food and well kept horses. Age limit: None for riding. Free Activities: Daily guided morning walks, Use of indoor pools, hot tubs and saunas. 3 Fitness work out areas, 150 km hiking trails. Paid for activities: Riding, spa treatments, mountain biking and canoeing. Price: £48 per person per night based on 2 sharing a room. Why we like it: A refuge of renewal and rejuvenation good for one night or 20! Riding Ability: All as groups are split according to ability. A working cattle ranch with accommodation in either the main lodge or rustic three-bedroom chalets with kitchens, but no telephones. As well as riding in glorious countryside, Hills has a reputation as the leading health/wellness spa in Canada.
