Location: Moored in the shelter or Barnard Harbour, in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, a spectacular float plane flight from Bella Bella. Nearest major airport: Vancouver. Description: One of the most magnificent floating eco resorts ever built. Designed for absolute comfort and positioned to capture spectacular views of the landscape. A remarkably civilized place amidst absolute wilderness! Fishing, guided hiking & heli-hiking, kayaking, spa treatments and wildlife viewing, including the search for the elusive Spirit Bear and good food are all on the menu. Accommodation: Seventeen rooms house just 28 guests, with 41 staff (including 5 chefs). The area has been home to the Tsimshian people for over 10,000 years and many members of staff are from the local Indian bands. We have included the ocean view rooms but there are also beautiful suites and some rooms overlooking the wilderness. Why we like it: The remote location and range of activities coupled with great luxury and care. Prices: 3 night package - £3246 per person based on 2 sharing an oceanview room - 26th May to 29th Sep. Includes: return flights from Vancouver to the lodge via Bella Bella, full board and most tours. The Spirit bear can usually be seen from the end of August but the search for this wonderful and elusive animal does cost extra.
