Four Seasons Hotel
Location: Downtown, close to all the main attractions. Description: An elegant hotel with 372 classic guest rooms, including 66 suites, all featuring large windows overlooking the city's stunning scenery and landmarks. The renowned Chartwell Restaurant, fitness facilities, a pool, sauna, spa and a pretty garden complete the picture. Accommodation: A big choice of rooms starting with one queen size bed to huge suites. Why we like it: A quietly sophisticated hotel with the renowned Four Seasons service.

Fairmont Waterfront
Location: Above the Cruise Ship Terminal, the hotel is within walking distance from Stanley Park, Gastown, the shopping and entertainment district. Description: A modern hotel with a good restaurant, exemplary service, an outdoor heated pool and health club. Accommodation: We use the Portside Deluxe rooms overlooking Burrard Inlet, but for just £10 pp extra we recommend the Waterside Deluxe room with harbour views. Better still are the Signature corner rooms or for the ultimate luxury, Fairmont Gold. Why we like it: The Waterfront has a stunning view wherever there's a window!
Opus Hotel
Location: Yaletown district of downtown Vancouver. Description: A modern, stylish hotel. Facilities include the French style Elixir Bar & Restaurant, Opus cocktail and lively tapas bar, expresso bar and fitness room. Accommodation: 94 spacious and colourful bedrooms with sitting areas. Why we like it: Unique décor combined with real comfort and service.
Pacific Palisades
Location: Right in the heart of Vancouver's West End. Description: This superior, funky hotel has the biggest swimming pool in Vancouver plus health club, spa facilities and yoga. The trendy Zin Restaurant offers Westcoast cuisine with a global flair'. Complimentary Soul Flow' reception each evening in the art gallery. Accommodation: The hotel has some bright rooms and lovely 1-bedroom suites with fantastic city views. Why we like it: Cool accommodation for those looking for something a little different
