Whether you travel by regular aeroplane, sea plane or ferry, it is an easy journey from Vancouver. We have included the downtown hotels, but there are a couple of lovely properties about 30 minutes away Sooke Harbour House and the Aerie Resort or the new Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa. The Fairmont Empress Location: On the Inner Harbour downtown. Description: An icon of Victoria! Enjoy Afternoon Tea in the magnificent Tea Lobby surrounded by handcrafted tapestries, lovely mouldings and polished, hard wood floors. The hotel also has a spa, a fully-equipped gym, indoor heated pool and whirlpool area. Restaurants include the renowned Bengal Lounge, the Death by Chocolate buffet and the Empress room. Accommodation: The Fairmont rooms have 1 king or 2 double beds but we recommend the Harbour view deluxe room at an extra £53 per person. Why we like it: A historic building with modern comforts. The Laurel Point Inn Location: Overlooking both inner and outer harbours of Victoria. Description: This resort style hotel has two towers. The 3.5 star North Wing houses spacious rooms; while the 4* South Wing contains stunning suites simply decorated in pale creams, honey-colour wood and marble, with enormous marble bathrooms. All rooms have a harbour view and the hotel has a swimming pool, hot tub and two restaurants/bars. Accommodation: The spacious and bright North wing rooms have King or Double-beds with a private balcony. South Wing Suites have either a queen-size bed or two twin beds. All rooms feature a comfortable sitting area, a mini fridge, and a large glass balcony with patio furniture. An ultra-luxurious marble bathroom with a deep-soaker bath and glass walk-in shower. Why we like it: Beautiful views and the south wing elegance. Oswego Victoria Boutique Hotel Location: Residential neighbourhood of James Bay near the Inner Harbour. Description: An eclectic mix of rugged West Coast and contemporary design. There is a Bistro & Bar serving West Coast tapas, exclusively British Columbian wine list and deluxe continental buffet breakfast. Accommodation: A variety of modern studios, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments all with kitchens and 32 flat screen tvs. Why we like it: A new, sophisticated hotel earning itself an excellent reputation. 32 To book call 020 8776 8709 F
