Whistler
Although originally designed as a ski resort, Whistler is now the perfect all-season holiday destination. With a pretty pedestrian village centre, good retail therapy, awe-inspiring scenery and easy access from Vancouver by road and rail, this is an excellent spot to spend some of your holiday. There are so many things to do that you will need 2 weeks to do the half of them but on the assumption that you will be trying to fit it all into 2 or 3 days, we would recommend the golf, the bear watching and the mountain biking! For something a little less energetic, a walk along the Valley floor is beautiful and the shopping excellent.
Delta Whistler Village Suites
Location: In Whistler village North close to shops and restaurants. Description: Full service hotel with indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs and sauna plus the casual Milestones restaurant and the Palomino Sports Bar. Accommodation: Delta hotel rooms, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. The 1-bedroom has either king, twins or queen bed; while the 2-bedroom has a queen bed in the master, with twins or queen bed in the second. Why we like it: Good for families.
Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Location: Whistler Village North at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Description: The hotel has a fabulous spa, a good range of shops, two restaurants, bar and lounge. The lovely indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and exercise room overlook the mountain slopes and connect to the sauna and steam room. The Chateau has its own excellent golf course. Accommodation: The Fairmont rooms have either 1 king or 2 queen beds. Fairmont Gold rooms include breakfast and evening appetisers plus an honour in the very comfortable sitting room. Why we like it: Traditional elegance with a friendly smile.
Westin Resort and Spa
Location: In the heart of Whistler Village. Description: An all-suite hotel with excellent facilities; an indoor/outdoor pool, the Avello spa & Health Club, 2 hot tubs, steam room and fitness equipment. Accommodation: The 419 deluxe suites, all with the famous Heavenly BedsŪ comprise studios and 1-bedroom units (can combine to make deluxe 2-bedroom suites) each with fireplace and kitchen. Why we like it: Ideal for those wanting more space than a regular hotel room and deluxe accommodation.
