27 Banff & Lake Louise for more information visit our website: www.frontier-ski.co.uk On piste Mount Norquay is just five minutes drive from central Banff and offers some enjoyable skiing, from tree lined blue trails to more adventurous black diamond terrain. The area also offers night skiing on Fridays. With its diverse terrain and renowned natural snowfall, Sunshine Village, 25 minutes from Banff, is a gem. Mount Standish and Lookout Mountain offer everything from novice trails to tough double-blacks, with the third mountain, Goat's Eye, giving advanced skiers plenty to think about. Experts are drawn towards Delirium Dive and the Wild West areas, both of which can only be accessed with safety equipment. A regular on the World Cup circuit, Lake Louise is the largest of the 3 ski areas. Its slopes are just few minutes from Lake Louise village and 45 minutes from Banff. The Front-side has some fantastic cruising, along with several advanced trails and glades as well as an excellent terrain park. Experts will head towards The Powder Bowls, which are a treasure trove of black diamonds. The glades below the Ptarmigan chair are breathtaking. The tree-lineD slopes of the Larch area are gentler, but none the less inviting. Add to all this the stunning views and you have a `notto-be-missed' ski area. Transport Banff is 1.5 hours drive from Calgary Airport, and Lake Louise takes an extra 45 minutes. Although not essential, we do recommend hiring a car. Please see page 4 for car hire prices, and be aware that some hotels may charge for parking. Regular shuttles operate between Calgary Airport and all the Banff and Lake Louise hotels departing within 1 hour of your flight arrival. For more comfort and convenience, we recommend a private transfer (free of charge, if flying club class). Buses to the mountains are regular and reliable, picking up from, or very near, all our hotels and the service comes free with your Tri-Area lift pass. Ski school Individual ski schools on each mountain offer child and adult group lessons, multi-day packages, and private tuition. Please ask us for the complete list or visit the website. Highly recommended are CLUB SKI and CLUB SNOWBOARD, 3-day, 3-mountain exploration programmes that include 4.5 hours instruction per day and lunch. You will ski/ride with the same instructor as part of a group (up to 9 people). Programmes start on Sundays and Thursdays. Participants enjoy lift line priority, group photo, fun race and optional wind-up dinner with presentation of video. Available for children and adults, from beginners to experts. Prices start from £124 if pre-booked through Frontier Ski. Off piste Dogsledding, snowmobiling or heliskiing have to take place outside the National Park, but transfers from Banff/Lake Louise are available, and don't miss the walking trails around the town. Take the Banff gondola to see spellbinding scenery, or experience an evening wildlife viewing excursion, then end the day at the natural hot springs to soak tired muscles. Ice walking in the canyons, snowshoeing and sleigh rides are wonderful ways to enjoy the Canadian winter, and an evening trip to see the Calgary Flames play ice hockey at the Calgary Saddledome will engulf you in Canadian atmosphere. Lift passes Up to 4 related children under 15 ski free when one 6-day adult pass is purchased in the UK. Excluding Dec 22-Jan 6.
