Banff has a lively and friendly
To Jasper
Lake Louise is much smaller
and quieter. If you want to relax surrounded by stunning scenery, this is the spot for you. The lake itself, frozen in winter, is a magical sight. There are a small number of shops and restaurants and just a few hotels to choose from. Wherever you stay you are never more than 10 minutes from Lake Louise Mountain and the ski bus will take you here as well as Sunshine and Mount Norquay.

atmosphere with plenty of shopping, a large selection of restaurants and pubs, and a vibrant nightlife. The town centre has a cinema, art galleries, a theatre and 2 museums, and there are regular buses servicing all attractions and the ski resorts. Most of the hotels are either located in the Banff Avenue area, on the scenic Tunnel Mountain road sitting just above the town, or near the hot springs and are within easy walking distance and as well as the buses, taxis are cheap and plentiful.
