Days 2-29/La Fortuna - Arenal The town of La Fortuna is known for the spectacular active volcano of Arenal where molten lava can often be seen flowing from the crater. We hike around the volcano and take a refreshing dip in the stunning Fortuna waterfalls. Days 30-31/Cahuita National Park Copan Ruins 33 days Days -9/Antigua Antigua, set in the highlands of Guatemala, is dwarfed by three majestic volcanoes and is one the most beautiful towns in the Americas. Here we will wander the 16th-century cobblestone streets and explore the beautiful Spanish-style architecture, the churches and the monasteries. Our leader will also take us to the summit of one of the nearby volcanoes. Days 10-12/Panajachel - Chichicastenango We travel to the picturesque town of Panajachel on the edge of Lake Atitilan, surrounded by mighty volcanoes. This is some of Central Americas most beautiful countryside. Before returning to Antigua well visit the colourful markets at Chichicastenango  a real highlight! Days 13-1/Copan Ruins We cross the border into our fourth country, Honduras, and visit the Mayan ruins of Copan. Set amidst a tranquil forest along the Copan River we explore the intricate statues of the citys 16 rulers, pyramids and plazas. Copan also has a number of optional adventure activities to sample  rafting, caving, horseback riding and bike riding to name a few. Days 15-1/Roatan Island - Tegucigalpa The friendly Bay Islands is a Caribbean paradise where you can enjoy stunning palm-fringed beaches with sparkling white sand. There is time here to swim, dive, snorkel or simply relax. At night you can indulge in some of the laid back Caribbean nightlife to be found on Roatan. Days 19-21/Granada Travelling down into Nicaragua, we come to the historic town of Granada. A walking tour of the city with our leader will acquaint us with this charming town, then theres free time for optional activities such as hiking, boating or, for the adventurous, a day trip to Managua. Days 22-23/Ometepe Island A ferry takes us across Lake Nicaragua to Ometepe Island. This incredible island was formed by two volcanoes and has a rich archaeological history. Relaxing beaches and natural reserves are waiting to be explored. Days 2-25/San Jose Across the border in Costa Rica, we make our way to San Jose. The citys excellent museums and impressive National Theatre are must sees. Days 2-27/Monteverde Travelling into the mountains we come to the village of Monteverde. The Monteverde Cloud Forest is home to hundreds of species of animal, bird and plant life. Considered one of the worlds most outstanding wildlife On the Caribbean coast we come to the small town of Cahuita. Its incredible beach is great for swimming and snorkelling or simply unwinding. The surrounding National Park is a haven for wildlife with opportunities for spotting coatis, sloths, armadillos, iguanas, howler and capuchin monkeys. Days 32-33/Puerto Viejo - San Jose Our final stop is the beach resort of Puerto Viejo, one of Costa Ricas most happening spots. The Afro-Caribbean lifestyle and laid-back atmosphere make it a great place to unwind after our overland adventure. Long walks on pristine beaches; snorkelling or diving among the many reefs in crystal clear waters; world-class surfing; mountain biking... there are so many activities on offer. On Day 33, we travel back to San Jose where our trip comes to an end. Cancun to San Jose This sensational trip spans six colourful countries and packs in a lot of adventure along the way. We have time to enjoy this lively city or to relax on the beautiful white sandy beaches of nearby Playa del Carmen. Days 3-5/Tulum - Caye Caulker The coastal road takes us past the Mayan ruins of Tulum and across the border to Belize City. From here we board our boat to the beautiful Caribbean island of Caye Caulker. Laze on the beach or take up some of the optional water sports on offer on this island paradise.
