kilometres. The ruins boldly declare that this was an area of wealth and power, with these enclosures once forming the heart of a city of an estimated 10,000 people. After exploring the site we continue to South Africa for a relaxing break at the outdoor hot spring pools of Tshipse. Days 8-9/Kruger National Park Next we are treated to two days of game viewing in South Africas most famous wildlife reserve, Kruger National Park. This park covers an area of 21,497 square kilometres and is home to 500 species of birds and 146 different types of mammals. We spend two nights camping within the park what better way to see such a diverse area and a varied abundance of wildlife! Day 10/Blyde River Canyon Blyde River Canyon is reputedly the worlds largest green canyon. After exploring the canyon and absorbing the breathtaking scenery of the area we reach our campsite, which sits perched upon the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Kruger lowveld. Days 11-12/Pilgrims Rest - Pretoria/Johannesburg After watching the new day break over the lowveld we journey back through Pilgrims Rest. The town has been reconstructed as a living museum and is the only village in South Africa to be awarded the status of a national monument. It was here in the 19th century that gold fever hit South Africa, with prospectors opening up new frontiers. We travel through the aptly named Panorama region towards Pretoria, where a beautiful campsite awaits us for our final night.
Day 1/Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) When David Livingstone first set eyes upon the immense mile-wide sheet of water that plunged over the deep chasm, he reverentially gushed that scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight. Without doubt the sheer energy and power of Victoria Falls is mesmerising and a visit to the nearby national park is also a must. If you plan to take up any of the other adrenalin-charged activities on offer in this adventure capital, then we recommend you arrive a couple of days before the start of this tour. Days 2-3/Hwange National Park Leaving Victoria Falls we drive east to Hwange National Park, where our camp is situated on the edge of the park. Game driving provides our first wildlife experiences, as we set off in search of the wild animals that Africa is renowned for. With an elephant population of around 40,000, Hwange is sure to impress! While at Hwange we visit a local school, NAMIBIA which we help to support financially. Days 4-5/Antelope Park Antelope Park, a private reserve located near Bulawayo, is a place where your dreams of African wildlife can and do come true. Here you get to walk with lion cubs in the reserve and youll also have the opportunity to go game viewing atop an elephant or even swim with these majestic animals! Another option is to seek out grazing animals, by exploring on foot or on horseback. Antelope Park is certain to be one of the most treasured stops on your safari. Days 6-7/Great Zimbabwe Ruins - Tshipse Hot Springs The Great Zimbabwe Ruins is a series of imposing enclosures, surrounded by great stone walls over an area of several square
