Days -2/Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels There are no activities planned on Day 1, so you may arrive in Saigon at any time. The next day we visit the former guerrilla stronghold at Cu Chi, famous for the role it played during the Vietnam War. We go underground and explore the site, before returning to continue exploring Saigon. Days 3-4/Phnom Penh Travelling overland we reach Cambodias capital, Phnom Penh. A cyclo tour takes us to the Royal Palace before we visit the notorious Tuol Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, both stark reminders of the brutal Khmer Rouge era. There is also free time to explore more uplifting sites around the city! Days 5-7/Siem Reap - Angkor Siem Reap is our base for exploring the Angkor temples. We drive out to the Angkor Wat complex to watch the sunset from Phnom Bakheng and during our day trip the next day we visit Elephant Terrace, Baphoun, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Leper King and the jewel in the crown, magnificent Angkor Wat. Day 7 is a free day, so you can visit the rose coloured Banteay Srei Temple or return to Angkor to do some more exploring on your own. Day 8/Siem Reap - Bangkok Today we embark on a long and adventurous road journey in local minivans along a dusty and bumpy road to the border town of Poipet before we journey on to Bangkok. Days 9-0/Bangkok In Bangkok our hotel is centrally located in the heart of one of the exciting shopping districts. We start our day with a morning tour, introducing us to some of the major sights and the afternoon is at our leisure. Our overland journey ends in Bangkok the next morning but you are free to keep exploring this vibrant city!
Phnom Overland Indochina Penh Cu Chi Indochina Discoverer Saigon Day 0/Cu Chi Tunnels The resilient fighters of Cu Chi constructed around 200 kilometres of underground tunnels during the bitter wars of the 20th century. You can crawl through the tunnels and see the underground hospitals, kitchens and meeting rooms, built during the struggle for a unified Vietnam. Days -2/Phnom Penh We head across the border into neighbouring Cambodia and on to the capital, Phnom Penh. The following day explore the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda on a cyclo tour, as well as visit Tuol Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek chilling reminders of Cambodias recent past. Later we have enough free time to visit some of Phnom Penhs other important attractions, such as the temple of Wat Phnom. Days 3-5/Siem Reap - Angkor We travel further north, skirting the massive Tonle Sap Lake, to the peaceful town of Siem Reap. Our Cambodian guide will take us on an extensive tour of the great World Heritage site of Angkor. It is scattered over an area of 200 square kilometres, and youll be utterly spellbound by Angkors sheer size and magnificent beauty. Day 6/Siem Reap - Bangkok We continue our journey, travelling on a rough road to the CambodiaThai border town of Poipet, before heading to Bangkok. Days 7-8/Bangkok We are introduced to some of Bangkoks most famous sights on a short walking tour, including the impressive Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha. We also have free time to explore this vibrant and modern city for ourselves. Our adventure ends after breakfast on Day 18.

Days -2/Hanoi Hanoi is a charming capital with many great attractions. You can arrive at any time on Day 1, as no activities are planned. The next day we visit the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and the infamous Hoa Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton), before setting out on our own to explore the citys intriguing Old Quarter. In the evening we board the Reunification Express to Hue. Day 3/Hue Hue is rich in history and archaeological treasures. There is time to explore the citys massive Citadel, before cycling through the surrounding countryside. Then we board a dragon boat and let the gently flowing waters of the Perfume River take us back to Hue. Days 4-5/Hoi An Hoi Ans eclectic architecture, influenced over time by resident Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Dutch merchants, was spared the ravages of Vietnams 20th-century wars and today remains a living museum of a bygone era and a favourite of travellers. Days 6-8/Nha Trang With fabulous year-round sunny weather and a magnificent beach, the resort city of Nha Trang is a Mecca for sun-lovers. We enjoy a relaxing cruise on the South China Sea, with the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. After our fantastic beach break we rejoin the train to Saigon. Day 9/Saigon Saigon is home to nearly eight million people and is vastly different to its northern cousin, Hanoi. From our centrally located hotel, it is easy to visit the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and lively Ben Thanh Market.
