Days 3-4/Luxor - Valley of the Kings A free day allows time to fully explore the sights of Luxor. The next day we ride donkeys into the Valley of the Kings (its great fun!), where we enjoy a guided tour and visit three major tombs. In the evening we take the train to Aswan. Day 5/Aswan This morning we have time for an optional tour to Abu Simbel or to explore the Nubian bazaar. In the afternoon we board our felucca and sail around the islands. Theres time for an optional sunset camel ride before we head to a Nubian village for dinner. Day 6/Aswan We sail back to Aswan, arriving around midday. The rest of the day is free for further exploration before we board the overnight train to Cairo. Days 7-8/Cairo - Dahab Arriving in Cairo we have a free day to explore the old city and the amazing Khan el Khalili bazaar. The following day we bus across to Dahab, in the southern Sinai. Days 9-10/Dahab We have two full days to chill out, snorkel, windsurf or dive in this laid-back beach town. This is the perfect wind-down after our many explorations. Days 11-12/Dahab - Cairo We return to Cairo, arriving in the evening. Our trip ends the next morning, but if you wish to stay longer in Cairo, simply book some additional accommodation.

This is a great combination! We explore Cairo and the Nile Valley, and spend a night on a felucca, before heading to Dahab for three days of R&R.

Day 1/Cairo Our trip starts today in Cairo. No activities are planned so you may arrive at any time. Day 2/Cairo - Pyramids - Sphinx With our guide we visit the great pyramids and the nearby Sphinx. The afternoon is free to explore and in the evening we take the night train to Luxor.

Day 3/Luxor Luxor has been called the worlds biggest open-air museum due to the number of monuments in the area and their excellent state of preservation. We have a free day to visit the many sights on the east bank, such as Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple and the extensive bazaar. Day 4/Luxor - Valley of the Kings We cross the Nile and ride donkeys into the amazing Valley of the Kings. Located here are many tombs of the great pharaohs including Tutankhamun. Our guide will explain the funerary scripts and we visit three major tombs. The rest of the day is free until we board the train to Aswan. Days 5-6/Aswan This morning we have time for an optional tour to Abu Simbel or to explore the Nubian bazaar. In the afternoon we board our felucca and sail around the islands. Theres time for an optional sunset camel ride before we head to a Nubian village for dinner. The next morning we sail back to Aswan, arriving around midday and the rest of the day is free for further exploration before we board the overnight train to Cairo. Days 7-8/Cairo Arriving in Cairo we have a free day to explore the old city and the bustling Khan el Khalili bazaar. The next morning our trip comes to an end.
