We think this is the best trip in Egypt! Why? Because we experience the incredible landscapes of both the Western Desert and the Sinai Peninsula. If this isnt enough, we also see the major highlights in the Nile Valley AND finish up with three days on the beach!

Days 7-8/Luxor - Valley of the Kings Arriving in Luxor we say goodbye to our Bedouin friends. We have time for an optional visit to Karnak Temple and to browse the celebrated bazaars. The following day we ride donkeys into the Valley of the Kings great fun and a highlight of our trip! Day 9/Aswan An early start sees us on the road to the laid-back city of Aswan. The rest of the day is free to explore the backstreet bazaars or for optional activities. Days 10-12/Abu Simbel - Felucca Cruise Today we make an early start for Abu Simbel where we visit the incredible temple of Ramses II. Returning to Aswan, we board our feluccas and set sail towards Edfu and the Temple of Horus. The pace is slow and theres ample time to relax, read or play cards with our Nubian crew. Along the way we also visit the temple of Komombo, beautifully located on the riverbank. Day 13/Luxor - Cairo We say goodbye to our felucca crew and travel by road into Luxor where the afternoon is free for final shopping before we board the night train to Cairo. Days 14-15/Cairo - Sinai Back in Cairo we have a day to explore, allowing time to visit the older parts of the city. The next day we head into the Sinai, a magnificent region of rugged sandstone mountains. Day 16/Mt Sinai Ascent - Dahab We set off before dawn to climb Mt Sinai (2285m) and from the summit we enjoy a spectacular sunrise. We then head to the coast where the rest of the day is free to kick back and relax in the town of Dahab.
Days 17-18/Dahab We have two full days to enjoy this easygoing coastal resort. Theres heaps to do including swimming, snorkelling, windsurfing, diving and camel rides! Days 19-20/Sinai - Cairo We return to Cairo for our final night. The trip ends the next day after breakfast. Additional accommodation in Cairo is available on request.
Days 1-2/Cairo - Pyramids - Sphinx Our trip starts in Cairo. No activities are planned on Day 1 so you may arrive at any time. On Day 2 we enjoy a guided tour of the pyramids and Sphinx and have the rest of the day free to explore the city. Day 3/White Desert Meeting our Bedouin crew in Cairo, we load our gear into jeeps for the start of our desert safari. We have time to visit the museum in Farafra and to swim in one of the natural springs before entering a spectacular region of wind-hewn limestone rocks. We camp tonight in the White Desert. Days 4-5/Dakhla At the friendly town of Dakhla we visit the old mud-brick citadel and explore the Ethnographic Museum. We spend the night at a rustic camp and enjoy an evening of Bedouin entertainment. The next morning we climb the nearby sand dunes and later stop for a refreshing swim. In the afternoon we meet our camels and ride off into the sunset for an overnight camp. Day 6/Al Kharga - Baris Further south we reach Al Kharga, where we visit the Temple of Hibis and the elaborate mud-brick necropolis of Al Bagawat, dating to the 4th century AD. We continue to Baris Oasis for our last overnight camp.
