Day 3/Aswan Aswan has a cheerful, easy-going atmosphere and we have ample time to soak up its charm. Theres plenty to see and do and most will enjoy strolling through the colourful Nubian bazaar or watching the local fishermen along the waterfront. Days 4-6/Nile Cruise We visit the spectacular temples at Abu Simbel this morning and later we board our riverboat, sailing first to Komombo. We visit the picturesque Temple of Sobek and continue to Edfu to explore the well-preserved Temple of Horus. In between theres plenty of time to relax on the sundeck, observing scenes of everyday life along the riverbank, and one evening we enjoy a fun theme night after dinner. Arriving in Luxor we take horse-carriages to the superb temple complex at Karnak. Day 7/Luxor - Valley of the Kings We cross the Nile at dawn where our donkeys are waiting to transport us into the Valley of the Kings. This is great fun and one of the highlights of our trip to Egypt. The rest of our time is free to explore the bazaar until we board the night train to Cairo. Days 8-9/Cairo - Sinai Back in Cairo we have a day to relax, allowing time to visit the famous Khan el Khalili bazaar, and the next day we head into the Sinai Peninsula, an untamed wilderness of immense beauty, where we spend the night at a simple hostel. Day 10/Mt Sinai Ascent - Dahab Rising early, we hike to the summit of Mt Sinai (2285m) to watch the sun rise over the southern end of the peninsula a magical experience! We then continue to Dahab, a laid-back travellers haunt, where the rest of the day is free to relax. Day 11/Dahab A free day for swimming, snorkelling or relaxing in the waterfront cafes of this chilled out beach town. Days 12-13/Cairo We return to Cairo, arriving in the late afternoon and our trip ends the next day after breakfast. Additional accommodation in Cairo is available on request.

Explore the Nile Valley, visit Abu Simbel and enjoy a fantastic riverboat cruise from Aswan to Luxor. We also hike to the top of Mt Sinai before heading to the coast to relax at the laidback resort at Dahab.

Days 1-2/Cairo - Pyramids - Sphinx Our trip starts in Cairo no activities are planned for Day 1 so you may arrive at any time. The following morning we enjoy a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum, including the outstanding Tutankhamun collection. We then continue with our guide to the edgeN ofAtheS E A MEDITERRA E N Western Desert to explore the pyramids and Sphinx. In the evening we take the night train to Aswan. Cairo

to the Giza plateau to visit the pyramids, Sphinx and the intriguing Valley Temple. In the evening we take the overnight train to Aswan. Day 3/Aswan Aswan is a friendly, welcoming city where felucca sailboats drift lazily around the many islands. While here we visit the amazing temple complex at Abu Simbel and the rest of our time is free to explore the bazaar, stroll along the waterfront or make an optional visit to the exquisite Temple of Isis at Philae. Days 4-6/Nile Cruise We board our riverboat and travel north towards Luxor. The sunsets are brilliant and we have time to relax and enjoy our surroundings. We visit the Temple of Sobek at Komombo, and the Temple of Horus the falcon-headed God at Edfu. One evening we enjoy a fun night with Egyptian themes. On arrival in Luxor we visit Karnak Temple and have time to check out the bazaar. Day 7/Luxor - Valley of the Kings We cross the Nile at dawn where we meet our donkeys and trot past fields of alfalfa into the Valley of the Kings. This is great fun and one of the highlights of our visit to Egypt. The rest of the day is free until we catch the night train back to Cairo. Days 8-9/Cairo We arrive in the morning and have a full day to check out some of the other places of interest. Many will want to head off to the fabulous Khan el Khalili bazaar Cairos Aladdins Cave. Our trip ends the following morning after breakfast.
