This delightful house is surrounded on three sides by an orange grove; you can almost pick them from your bedroom window!
The nearby beaches of Ilha de Tavira, reached by a small train across the lagoon, is a short drive away. Buses stop at the end of the track and can take you to the towns of Tavira or Faro, meaning car hire is not essential. All on ground floor: Living room with patio door. This second floor apartment is set in a quiet street near the old market town with esplanades to the River Gilao.
Tavira is popular with tourists, but life here is pretty much as it always has been, and the town has continued to be a primary fishing port. There are two sides to the town linked by a Roman bridge. In the summer a short boat trip will take you to the lovely long beaches on the Ilha of Tavira - an offshore island of golden sand providing excellent swimming.
