Catalunya...
There is a wonderfully distinctive character to Catalunya where the people proudly speak their own language, have their own delicious cuisine and consider themselves Catalan first and Spaniards second! At the heart of the region is Barcelona, the capital of Catalunya, widely renowned for its fantastical architecture, lively Ramblas boulevard and buzzing nightlife of the Gothic quarter. To the south is the Old Roman capital of Tarragona, the beaches of the Costa Dorada and the reedy lagoons of the Ebro Delta. The beaches, coves and resorts of the Costa Brava stretch to the north, with the historic city of Girona against a backdrop of the snow capped Pyrenees. Inland to the west is the mountainous Lleida province, most popular for walking, adventure sports and skiing in the winter months.
