Costa de Almeria most well known for its pretty coves, sandy beaches and pleasant resorts, the Costa de Almeria is also backed by spectacular, unspoilt countryside and a dramatic lunar landscape. Granada it's said that if you only visit Spain once, visit Granada, majestically positioned astride three green hills, with the magical Alhambra as its crowning glory.
· Allow time to explore the pink and gold
Alhambra Royal Palace, the Alcazaba fortress and the beautiful gardens of the Generalife.
· See the `sugar-cube' houses of the picturesque Moorish fortress town of Mojacar. · Enjoy the beaches of tiny San Jose on the
edge of the Cabo de Gata-Nija Natural Park. Las Alpujarras the landscape of Las Alpujarras rises to the peaks of the Sierra Nevada, with pastures, groves and orchards terraced into plunging valleys and tiny villages tucked into cliffs.
· Wander the narrow, ancient alleys
of Granada's old Muslim quarter, the Albayzin. Lecrin Valley with timeless villages in a fragrant landscape of almond, olive and citrus groves, the Lecrin valley lives up to its Moorish name The Valley of Happiness!
· Visit the traditional market town of
Orgiva and find a handmade rug in the Alpujarran colours of red, green, black and white.
· Explore walking trails through the valley
and enjoy refreshments in the sleepy plazas of Saleres, Niguelas and Melegis.
· Pack a picnic for a day at the fresh water
lake in the centre of the valley or try the restaurant by a stream in the lakeside village of Restabel.
· Drink mineral water from melted snow in
the mountain village of Lanjaron.
