Parque Natural de Cazorla & Jean the largest nature reserve in Spain, the Parque is a wonderful wilderness of cream and ochre hills, fragrant pine forests, tumbling springs and sparkling waterfalls.
Cordoba deep in the countryside, this historic city has a wonderfully atmospheric old quarter with a maze of winding lanes around the famous Moorish Mezquita.
· Watch for Imperial Eagles, hawks and
kites on a scenic hike or take a jeep safari into the most isolated and dramatic corners of the Parque.
· Explore the forest of onyx and marble
pillars in the Mezquita and be amazed by the 16th century cathedral within its walls.
· Enjoy specialities such as Salmorejo soup
and Rabo de Toro oxtail stew with the local Moriles and Montilla wines. Ronda one of Spain's oldest cities and a national heritage site, Ronda is perched on a rocky plateau, divided by the spectacular El Tajo Gorge and joined by an impressive bridge.
· Wander the narrow streets of ancient
Jaen to find its imposing Gothic cathedral and Moorish castle. Axarquia offering the best of both worlds, Axarquia offers an enticing combination of sparkling coastline and a typically Andalucian scenic setting.
· Visit the picturesque villages of Colmares,
Velez and Alcaucin, where the Venta de Alfarnate is claimed to be Spain's oldest Inn.
· Take a panoramic evening stroll across the
lantern-lit Puente Nuevo, spanning the 360ft ravine.
· Try the tapas bars of Casabermeja and
explore the surreal limestone sculptures of the El Torcal Reserve.
