or sit in shady Syntagma Square before catching a ferry across the sparkling Aegean Sea. Days 2-3 tinos Explore the sunny Cyclades, some of the most famous of Greeces thousands of islands and islets. Scenic Tinos in the Aegean Sea is made for walking. Discover abandoned windmills, ancient ruins and charming villages on the network of stone-paved tracks that criss-cross the island. Cool off with a dip at one of the many inviting beaches dotted around the coast. Days 4-5 Mykonos Island-hop in the charming Cyclades, where relief from the white-hot heat of July and August can be found in the form of the meltemi, a refreshing northerly wind that sweeps across the coasts. Follow narrow paths full of flowers, past whitewashed houses and churches to secluded sandy beaches and spend your afternoon soaking up the rays and splashing in clear water. Then visit Mykonos town for some of the craziest nightlife in Europe. Days 6-8 santorini The journey ends in the much-loved southern archipelago of sunny Santorini. Renowned for its spectacular natural beauty and iconic white buildings, Santorini is one of Europes top tourist hotspots. Work up a tan on a beach of black sand, see the ruins of ancient Thira and Akrotiri or hire a scooter to cruise the coastal roads Greek-style. In the evening, rub shoulders with friendly locals in packed pubs and cafes, all waiting to witness the magnificent sunset. Some say its the best in Greece.

The nearby ruins of Nekromanteio are home to a creepy crypt, which is worth exploring for the atmosphere alone. Otherwise, seek out a secluded beach on nearby Antipaxos. Days 5-6 kefalonia Party up a storm in Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, an island famed for its spectacular caves and majestic mountains. Days 7-8 athens Theres time to explore the ancient Acropolis and the original Olympic stadium. Otherwise, just kick back and drink an ouzo or two. Days 9-10 tinos Follow the footpaths of Tinos through small villages, watching out for the isolated monuments and natural features that dot the scenery. Days 11-12 Mykonos Renowned for its wild allnight parties, Mykonos is full of funky bars and pubs. In the daytime, take a break on some of Europes best beaches. Or head to the port of Delos, which according to Greek mythology is the birthplace of Apollo and home of the gods. Days 13-15 santorini Located on the edges of an enormous caldera, Santorini is famed for its pretty whitewashed buildings and black sand beaches. Marvel at ancient Minoan ruins on the island of Akrotiri or feast on fresh seafood, before joining locals and tourists alike to watch the sun go down.
