Athens, Greece
After the Olympics in 2004, the city has been reborn and restored to its former glory. You can now explore the city easily, walking from one ancient site to another via the new network of pedestrian areas and city parks. It all makes seeing the Acropolis and other landmarks so much easier although the steps up to the temple are just as much of a climb as they were in ancient times. Day 6
Kusadasi, Turkey
One of Turkeys premier holiday resorts, where you can enjoy perfect beaches and enticing waters. Its also close to many significant archaeological sites including Ephesus, Turkeys best preserved ancient city. Visit the vast Minoan Palace of Knossos which is associated with the legendary King Minos. Its also home to the legends of Icarus and the monstrous Minotaur maybe its something to do with the inspiring landscape.
Katakolon, Greece
Where the Olympic Games started and the Olympic flame is still lit here every four years. Youll tour the sights of Olympia, including the Temple of Zeus and the original training ground for the athletes.
