This comprehensive holiday, packed with included excursions, provides an intriguing insight into this unique country.
YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions in the executive lounge prior to your scheduled flight to Cuba. On arrival in Holguin, in the south of the island, transfer to Guardalavaca for a two night stay. Welcome drink on arrival. DAY 2 - Guardalavaca boasts dazzling white sands to laze on, fringed by cooling palm trees. Today you are free to relax, or take a short optional trip to see the native Indian necropolis of Chorro de Maita. DAY 3 - Enjoy the scenic drive through the Sierra Maestra Mountains to Santiago de Cuba, stopping to visit the Castillo del Morro, a magnificent castle at the entrance to the bay. Lunch is included before reaching your hotel for a two night stay. A city sightseeing tour is included during your stay. DAY 4 - This morning we have included a visit to the Granjita Siborney and National Park. Afternoon free to enjoy Santiago de Cuba. During the evening, experience salsa music on an included visit to Casa de la Trova. DAY 5 - The drive to the Camaguey area takes us through small villages and cattle farming regions. We stop en route for a brief visit to Bayamo, before reaching your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 6 - Depart for Trinidad via Sancti Spiritus, for a two night stay. From the cobbled streets to the pretty Plaza Mayor, Trinidads centre is lovely and compact and there is much to explore from your beach hotel resort. DAY 7 - A half day visit around Trinidad is included today. The afternoon is free to explore more or relax at your hotel. DAY 8 - Today we have included a visit to the Botanical Gardens, run by the government since 1961, and one of the largest in Latin America with over 2,000 different species of plants. We continue on to Cienfuegos for a short sightseeing tour before reaching your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 9 - Day at leisure or take an optional excursion to Santa Clara, a strategic site during the two wars of independence and the Revolution.

DAY 10 - Today you will travel to the awe-inspiring mountains and lush vegetation of the Viñales Valley and Pinar del Rio, follow the coast and see the Bay of Pigs. Overnight accommodation has been arranged. DAY 11 After sightseeing and an included lunch, we continue to Havana for a three night stay. DAY 12 - Today we have included a full sightseeing programme, including Old Havana, where you will see the Plaza de Armas, the old Presidential Palace, and the Cathedral Square and pay a visit to a cigar factory. DAY 13 - Chance for further morning sightseeing. This afternoon we visit a salsa dancing class, where you are welcome to watch or join in. This evening we include a special farewell dinner and drink. DAYS 14 & 15 - Morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving the next day.
YOUR HOTELS
You will stay in the Hotel Brisas in Holguin, the Melia Santiago Hotel in Santiago de Cuba, the Hotel Colon in Camaguey or similar, the Hotel Costa Sur or similar in Trinidad, the Jagua Hotel or similar in Cienfuegos, the Los Jasmines Hotel in the Viñales Valley and the Telegrapho Hotel or similar in Havana. All hotels feature rooms with air-conditioning and private facilities. Tourism is still developing in Cuba and, while accommodation is sometimes simple in style and service may be slow, the delights of the island more than compensate for this.
