YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions in the executive lounge prior to your scheduled flight to Los Angeles. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. This evening there will be a welcome drink. DAY 2 - Welcome breakfast before an included morning city tour of Los Angeles, one of Americas most exciting cities and an outrageous amalgam of almost 100 townships sprawling over 4,000 square miles. It boasts every comfort, enjoyment and philosophy that man has yet devised and is, of course, the home of the Hollywood Movie Industry. You will see the Hollywood Bowl, Graumanns Chinese Theater with its famous hand and footprints, and Sunset Strip, also visit the renowned Farmers Market. This afternoon you can join our optional visit to Universal Studios, where the secrets behind dazzling film effects are revealed. DAY 3 - Our included tour to the delightful seaport of San Diego, with its marked Spanish influence, takes us to visit the Old Town and a drive through Gas Town before continuing to Seaport Village and Balboa Park. DAY 4 - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Christchurch, New Zealand. DAY 5 - In-flight, cross the International Date Line. DAY 6 - Early morning arrival in Christchurch in the South Island. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. This evening there will be a welcome dinner. In complete contrast to North Island, it is a land of mountains, glaciers and spectacular fjords. Its sparse population of just one million people shares the island with 60 million sheep! Here amongst the grandeur of the snow-capped peaks, still fjords and rugged coastline youll find a welcome and generousity towards strangers reminiscent of a bygone era at home in Britain. DAY 7 - Christchurch is known as the most English city outside England with its olde worlde charm, leafy parks and flowers. We include a morning sightseeing tour of the city before continuing into the heart of South Island. You will see Lake Tekapo, travel across Burkes Pass and past Lake Pulaki before arriving at Mount Cook. At 12,000ft it is the highest mountain in New Zealand and you can take the opportunity to have an optional scenic flight before continuing to Omarama for an overnight stay. DAY 8 - Today we leave Omarama and travel through the Lindus Pass to the lakeside resort of Wanaka, continue to the historic township of Arrowtown and on to Queenstown for a two night stay. DAY 9 - You can join our exciting full day optional excursion to Milford Sound, one of the most beautiful locations in New Zealand. The tour takes you to Te Anau, the gateway to Fjordland National Park, through the lush beech forests of Eglinton Valley and the eroded glacial canyons of Hollyford Valley, before arriving at Milford Sound. There will be an included cruise (weather permitting) on the Sound before returning by coach to Queenstown. DAY 10 - We leave Queenstown for the exhilarating drive over the scenic Haarst River Bridge and Clark Buff to the magnificent Fox Glacier. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 11 - We travel to Picton for an overnight stay. DAY 12 - We sail across the picturesque Cook Strait to North Island. On arrival in Wellington we include a panoramic city tour of the capital, we then continue to you hotel for an overnight stay. The warm emerald green Island was originally shaped by the fire of volcanoes. Today youll find a subtropical climate, thermal springs and geysers, luxuriant forests and stunning lakes. DAY 13 - We leave Wellington and travel via Lake Taupo, New Zealands largest freshwater lake and past the spectacular Huka Falls to Rotorua in the thermal springs region. Transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 14 - We include a morning visit to Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to view the boiling mud pools and geysers. You can join our optional afternoon excursion to the Agrodome for a sheep dog display and a visit to Rainbow Springs to see the kiwi birds, before our included evening visit to a Maori Hangi and concert. DAY 15 - Our drive to Auckland takes us via the Waitomo Caves, for an included tour of the glow worm grotto before continuing to your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 16 - We include a morning sightseeing tour of Auckland. The rest of the day is free to explore the City of Sails. DAY 17 - Day free before an evening transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Hong Kong. DAY 18 - Early morning arrival in Hong Kong. Transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. This afternoon our included sightseeing tour of Hong Kong Island takes us to Victoria Peak for superb views, Repulse Bay and Aberdeen, famous for its floating community. DAYS 19 & 20 - Free to join optional excursions. You can take a day trip into the New Territories or across the Pearl River to the former Portuguese colony of Macau. Take a harbour cruise or sail to Aberdeen for a seafood lunch. A ride on the Star Ferry is an absolute must, for a view of the city from a spectacular vantage point. Alternatively, stroll through the busy streets, shop for bargains and soak up the atmosphere. On your last evening there will be a farewell dinner. DAY 21 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. As you are flying westwards your arrival in the UK is later the same day.
