YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 - Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Rome. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a four night stay and enjoy a welcome drink before dinner in a local restaurant. DAY 2 - Join our included full day Rome city tour, in the company of a local guide for a comprehensive look at the famous sights of this fascinating city. In the ancient quarter youll see the Colosseum, perhaps Romes most enduring symbol, plus a host of other historic attractions. Youll also visit the Spanish Steps in the beautiful Piazza di Spagna and the famous Trevi Fountain legend has that those who toss a coin into the fountain are sure to return. Therell be free time for you to browse in the designer shops or stop for a coffee in one of the charming cafés. DAYS 3 & 4 - Free to relax or enjoy our optional excursions: Vatican & St. Peters Square - This unforgettable full day trip to the Vatican City features a visit to the magnificent St. Peters Basilica, which dominates the view with its impressive dome. We include entrance to the Vatican Museums, one of the most impressive collections of art and antiquities anywhere in the world, and the stunning Sistine Chapel, whose famous ceiling was painted by Michelangelo. Ostia Antica - Take a leisurely half day trip to this ancient port of Rome. The well-preserved site houses an amphitheatre and mosaics depicting everyday life under the Roman Empire. Wander along the old Roman streets and see the ruts cut into the ancient cobbles by chariots. Rome by Night - Drive along the Via Veneto to view the illuminated delights of Rome, such as the Piazza Venezia, Mussolinis former home, the Colosseum and Forum, the Vatican and St. Peters Basilica. Enjoy a farewell get-together and dinner in a local restaurant on Day 4. DAY 5 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
