This is a fabulous festive break filled with majestic Austrian mountains and sparkling Italian lakes, plus a chance to experience the wonderful history of Venice and Verona too. From the beautiful Tirol region we travel to the shores of glorious Lake Garda, a winning combination at any time of year and a perfect setting in which to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Your itinerarY
tueSDaY 23rD - Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Munich. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Innsbruck for a five night stay. This evening we include a welcome drink before dinner. CHriStMaS eVe - This morning we include a sightseeing tour of Innsbruck. Stroll through the charming old town past the famous Golden Roof and St. Jacobs Cathedral and browse through the excellent shops along the Altstadt. This afternoon you are free to explore further before returning to the hotel for an included festive dinner this evening. CHriStMaS DaY - Today we include a half day visit to the stylish winter resort of Seefeld before a traditional Christmas dinner back at the hotel. BoXinG DaY - Join an included scenic tour to the popular resort of Mayrhofen in the beautiful Ziller Valley. We will take a short drive along the Ziller Valley to the village of Hintertux for a chance to take a ride on the cable car (at extra cost) to the glacier, which provides magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. SaturDaY 27tH - Free to explore Innsbruck further at your own pace. Your Tour Manager will arrange a visit to the spectacular ski jump and panoramic café at Berg Isel (extra cost). SunDaY 28tH - Today we drive via the scenic Brenner Pass into Italy and stop in the border town of Vipiteno before reaching our Lake Garda hotel in Torbole for a five night stay. MonDaY 29tH - You can enjoy our included three-quarter day Lake Garda tour. Weve included a boat trip too. tueSDaY 30tH - Included full day excursion to Venice. We will visit St. Marks Square, take a walk over the Rialto Bridge, one of the most famous sights in the heart of Venice, and watch the boats on the Grand Canal below. Enjoy a stroll around the hidden piazzas or perhaps take a gondola ride through the network of canals (extra cost). neW YearS eVe - Included half day excursion to Verona, one of Italys most beautiful and historic cities. Dont miss the impressive square, Piazza Bra, with its ornate fountains and pavement cafés, dominated by the magnificent Roman Arena. We walk on to the lively open-air market in the Piazza Erbe, stroll round the shops in the Via Mazzini and visit the famous balcony featured in Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet. This evening its time to celebrate with our included New Years Eve dinner and live music. neW YearS DaY - Enjoy a wonderful included boat trip on Lake Garda to blow away the cobwebs. We include afternoon tea and biscuits back at the hotel before a farewell get-together this evening. friDaY JanuarY 2nD 2009 - Transfer to Milan for your return flight to the UK.
